The first gender reassignment surgery predated the first heart transplant and first use of chemotherapy by decades. Often, there is a misconception that trans people and medical transitioning are modern phenomena but that simply isn’t true. This class discusses the history of trans healthcare and go back farther to discuss how LGBTQ+ have existed throughout history and have long had ties to the healthcare community.
